The DevOps/Cloud Engineer – Intermediate will support the design, implementation, and operations of the SUS platform on public cloud IaaS. The role includes building and maintaining DevSecOps pipelines, provisioning runtime environments using automation tools, implementing cloud deployment models, and managing platform components such as logging, auditing, monitoring, and vulnerability detection. The engineer will work closely with operations teams to troubleshoot issues related to platform infrastructure and application hosting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build cloud environments to support digital services.
  • Monitor cloud applications to ensure performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Create, test, and implement safeguards to maintain data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Support SUS platform implementation on public cloud infrastructure.
  • Create and update service templates for cloud provisioning and software installation.
  • Set up DevSecOps pipelines for ministry applications across multiple runtime environments.
  • Configure and maintain logging, auditing, monitoring, alerting, and vulnerability detection components.
  • Troubleshoot platform and infrastructure issues with operations teams.
Skill Set Requirements
  • DevSecOps pipeline build and maintenance.
  • Provisioning application runtime environments using automation tools.
  • Cloud architecture and deployment model design (certified candidates preferred).
  • Linux shell scripting and Linux server administration.
  • OpenShift administration; Azure CLI and Azure PowerShell.
  • Understanding of network topologies and protocols.
  • Storage and relational database fundamentals.
  • Security analysis and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
General Coordination & Communication – 20%
  • Experience coordinating initiatives with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience planning and implementing changes within cloud environments.
  • Experience maintaining documentation for operational procedures.
Cloud Architecture – 30%
  • 3+ years deploying and optimizing applications on public cloud (Azure/AWS).
  • Experience with Terraform templates and Ansible playbooks (must-have).
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture and costing models.
  • Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift (highly desirable).
N-Tier Application Hosting – 20%
  • Multiple years of experience with n-tier application architectures.
  • 2+ years supporting RHEL environments.
  • 2+ years working with IBM WebSphere/Liberty/NDM.
  • Experience supporting application/web servers.
  • Experience with Managed File Transfer or FTP/SFTP systems (asset).
  • Experience with DataPower, Informatica, IBM MQ, IBM ACE (asset).
  • General understanding of network infrastructure (DNS, firewalls, load balancers).
DevSecOps – 25%
  • 2+ years working with DevSecOps tools for traditional and containerized workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, UrbanCode Deploy, UrbanCode Velocity (desirable).
  • Experience setting up SAST, DAST, and container vulnerability scanning.
Public Sector Experience – 5%
  • Experience working in OPS, BPS, or other government environments (asset).

  • Start Date: January 12, 2026
  • End Date: July 31, 2027
  • Closing Date: December 3, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. EST
  • Work Arrangement: Onsite (7.25 hrs/day, Mon–Fri)
  • Security Clearance: None required
  • Openings: 1 | Max Submissions: 1
  • Extension Possible: 2 times (up to 350 days)
  • Onsite Schedule: 4 days/week onsite from Oct 20, 2025; 5 days/week onsite from Jan 5, 2026
