The Automation Developer – Intermediate will identify automation opportunities, design and execute automated QA tests, develop automation scripts, and collaborate with QA analysts and developers to improve software processes. The role includes troubleshooting issues, developing workflows, preparing test cases, and contributing to both manual and automated testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify automation opportunities within software processes.
- Design and write automation test scripts using approved frameworks.
- Execute automated functional tests and validate results.
- Investigate defects identified during testing and recommend solutions.
- Collaborate with QA analysts and development teams to resolve issues.
- Run manual tests for systems, databases, applications, and networks as required.
- Install applications and databases needed for automation testing.
- Gather and document requirements for automation solutions.
- Prepare documentation and support implementation activities.
- Participate in triage meetings and produce defect summary reports.
General Skills
- Experience identifying automation opportunities across workflows.
- Experience with automated and manual QA processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience documenting bugs and providing clear explanations.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
- Ability to prepare detailed test cases and test plans.
QA Experience – 45%
- 1+ years experience in DevOps/Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with black-box, UAT, AODA, system, and integration testing.
- Experience writing and executing detailed test cases.
- Experience identifying, documenting, and triaging defects.
- Experience with HP ALM or Azure DevOps for test cases and test scenarios.
- Experience preparing test strategy and test plan documents.
- Experience drafting BRDs or analyzing business requirements.
Automation Testing / Technical – 35%
- 1+ years developing automation test scripts using multiple tools.
- Experience performing regression and functional testing using automation.
- Experience with screen readers, syntax checking, color-contrast tools, browser toolbars.
- Experience testing HTML5, WAI-ARIA, UX, and front-end components.
AODA & UX – 15%
- Knowledge of AODA and WCAG 2.0 AA compliance.
- Experience testing accessible web applications.
- Experience with Ontario Design Standards.
Public Sector Experience – 5%
- Knowledge of OPS development standards and processes.

- Start Date: December 8, 2025

- Work Arrangement: Onsite (Mon–Fri, 8:00–5:00)
- Security Clearance: None required
