Project Manager/Leader
Overview
The Ministry of Transportation (Labour and Transportation Cluster) is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Leader to provide project management expertise on large-scale, complex, high-profile, and high-risk I&IT initiatives. The successful consultant will ensure project deliverables meet client business requirements on time, within scope, and on budget. This is a fully onsite engagement based in Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale, complex enterprise I&IT projects across the full project lifecycle
- Manage project scope, risk, resources, schedules, and costs to ensure successful delivery
- Create, maintain, and distribute comprehensive project documentation in accordance with OPS standards
- Recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction for existing guides, documentation, and frameworks
- Apply I&IT project management frameworks and methodologies throughout project execution
- Manage and coordinate activities across Oracle Database, Unix (Solaris, AIX, Linux), and Windows Server environments
- Oversee projects involving WebLogic and Microsoft IIS Web/Application Servers as well as mainframe applications
- Utilize project management tools for the creation, distribution, and maintenance of project documentation
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to support project decision-making and stakeholder reporting
- Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as appropriate to ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with client stakeholders to align project deliverables with business requirements and priorities
Must-Have Requirements
- 10+ years of project management experience on enterprise projects including managing scope, risk, resources, schedules, and costs
- 10+ years of experience in the creation of project documentation
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with I&IT project management frameworks
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, Unix (Solaris, AIX, Linux), and Windows Server operating platforms
- Experience with WebLogic and Microsoft IIS Web/Application Servers and mainframe applications
- Experience using tools for the creation, distribution, and maintenance of project documentation
- Experience completing cost-benefit analyses
- Experience recommending revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods for published materials and documentation
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Ontario Public Service (OPS)
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite role located at 87 Sir William Hearst Ave., Toronto, Ontario. The consultant will be embedded with the Ministry of Transportation's Labour and Transportation Cluster team. No security clearance is required for this engagement.
