Overview

The Health Services Cluster (Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement) is seeking a Senior Project Control Officer to support the delivery of critical technology programs, including mainframe and legacy system initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Managers and Project Managers to coordinate planning, communications, and execution of core project components. This is a fully onsite role based in Toronto or Kingston, requiring a seasoned professional with strong organizational and project coordination capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on coordination support to Managers, Project Managers, and project teams throughout all phases of project delivery
  • Manage project and work plans, tracking progress and producing analytics to support program execution
  • Create and maintain management dashboards and executive summaries for senior leadership visibility
  • Coordinate process workflow management including ticketing systems and risk/issue tracking
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to gather updates and maintain project budgets, progress reports, action items, and risk management logs
  • Develop and distribute project status reports while maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs
  • Facilitate and schedule meetings, ensuring effective communication across all project stakeholders
  • Monitor the project document repository, ensuring all documents are reviewed, current, and properly maintained
  • Escalate issues and risks to Managers and Project Managers in a timely and structured manner
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of project document deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
Must-Have Requirements
  • 7–10 years of experience coordinating projects in a professional environment
  • Experience working alongside Managers and Project Managers to provide updates, escalate issues, identify risks, and lead/coordinate project document deliverables
  • Experience developing project status reports and maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs
  • Demonstrated Project Management software skills and experience (e.g., MS Project, Planview, or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of Project Management concepts including project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, planning, cost, and quality management
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple Project Managers and critical projects simultaneously in a professional setting
  • Experience monitoring project document repositories and ensuring documents are reviewed and maintained
  • Experience scheduling and facilitating project meetings
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience working in the public sector, particularly on mainframe or legacy system projects
  • Familiarity with SCRUM methodology and Agile project delivery practices
  • Experience with mainframe/legacy systems in an enterprise environment
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills with the ability to build stakeholder rapport
Work Environment

This is a fully onsite position. The resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding lunch), at either 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto or 49 Place d'Armes, Kingston. A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) security clearance is required. The role operates within an OPS project delivery environment supporting both Waterfall and Agile (including Scrum) project methodologies.
